Roof Restoration

A tired-looking roof usually isn't a failed roof. Restoration cleans it up, fixes what's worn and puts a protective coat back on.

What to look for

Signs you need this work done

Australian sun is hard on a roof. Coatings chalk off, pointing cracks, and moss takes hold on the shaded side. If the tiles and the structure underneath are still sound, restoration gets the roof back to a serviceable, good-looking condition for a fraction of what a replacement costs. If they're not, we'll tell you that before you spend anything.

  • Faded, chalky or patchy roof colour

Years of UV break down the original coating. It's cosmetic at first, but once the surface is porous the tiles start absorbing water.

  • Moss, lichen or black staining

Common on the southern side and under trees. It holds moisture against the tiles and lifts them slightly over time.

  • Crumbling pointing along the ridge capping

The mortar between ridge caps is usually the first thing to go. Once it's cracked, water and vermin have a way into the roof space.

  • A structurally sound roof that lets the house down

If you're selling or the place just looks tired, a restoration makes a bigger visual difference than almost anything else you can do outside.

What happens next

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Let us know the roof type and roughly how old it is. A photo from the ground is usually enough to start with.

  2. 02

    We assess your roof

We check the tiles, pointing, flashing and structure to confirm restoration is actually the right call for your roof.

  3. 03

    You get a written quote

The quote sets out each stage, from cleaning and repairs through to re-pointing and coating, plus colour options and an expected timeframe.

  4. 04

    We do the work

Restoration runs over several days in stages, and each one needs dry weather. We'll keep you posted if the forecast moves things.

Why Renovaroof

Why people go with us

  • We find the cause, not just the wet patch

A leak rarely starts where it shows up inside. We track it back to the flashing, valley or cracked tile that's actually letting water in, so the repair holds.

  • You'll get the honest option, including 'do nothing yet'

If your roof has years left in it, we'll say so. We'd rather quote you for a repair now and a restoration in five years than sell you a re-roof you don't need.

  • Itemised quotes, no moving numbers

You'll see what's included before we start. If we find something unexpected up there, we stop and talk to you about it rather than adding it to the invoice.

  • The same crew from quote to clean-up

The person who inspects your roof is across the job when the work happens. Nothing gets lost handing your job between a salesperson and a subbie.

Common questions

Roof Restoration questions

Usually a few days for a typical home, spread across cleaning, repairs, pointing and coating. Each stage needs the roof to be dry, so wet weather can stretch it out. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote rather than an optimistic one.
